Romagna...
DPS-Promatic factory is located in Forli', a small city with about
100.000 inhabitants in Romagna, a region in North-central Italy on the Adriatic sea.
We have always been people on the border, here is the Rubicone river that Julius Caesar crossed,
and here is where the North border of the Church state was. Actually it was not so bad to be ruled
by the Pope, our grand-grand-fathers
only had to pay 10% taxes (the so called 'decima') and not more than 50% as we do today!
Romagna has mountains (as high as 1600 mt or 4800 ft) and sea, with famous places like Ravenna,
Cesenatico, Rimini, Riccione.
Ravenna was the capital of the Byzantine empire, lots of the most beautiful mosaics are into
its churches.
In the top picture you can see the Main square of Forli', called Piazza Saffi. It is one of
the biggest squares in Italy and on the right side you can see the San Mercuriale church,
that is 1000 years old.
In the middle picture you can see a view that extends to the sea, shot from the main square
of Bertinoro, a beautiful ancient town, whose name means 'to be drank in gold'
and is famous for its Albana dessert wine.
The bottom picture was shot at Saline di Cervia, that is were the Etruscans and the Romans
extracted salt from
the sea water as far as 2500 years ago. On the left of the skyline you can see the San Marino
peak.
Come and visit our region, you'll enjoy it!
The above pictures made by Massimo Portolani are multiple
