An impressive application to get a drink from a vending machine was exhibited by Omnitel, the second largest Italian GSM operator, in its Omnipay
division at SMAU2000 in Milan from 19th to 23rd October.
The vending machine was provided by Vendo, leader in vending machine manufacturing, drinks have been provided by SANPELLEGRINO, and everything has
been organised by Dedem, leader in vending machines and photo booth operation. The electronics enabling the machine to be operated by phone was an application of DPS-Promatic Telecom Control Systems. In the above picture Mr.Giorgio Volta, of Omnitel Financial Services Division, dials his drink! |

| Another interesting application of the smart OmniPay Prepayed system developed by Omnitel, allows customers to use prepayed cards to do secure shopping in the internet. At the exhibition a sample card of 10.000 Lit value was distributed at the entrance and it could be used by customers to simulate a real purchase and get DVDs, CDs, Games and more... |

After choosing the product and entering the 14 digits code they got at the entrance, customers got a receipt and
could claim their present.
The printing system was developed, hardware and software, by DPS-promatic in 3 days. On the 19th of October the OmniPay site was officially launched and what was shown at the exhibition was available on line to anybody. |
